Thermo Fisher Scientific Announces Expansion

Thermo Fisher Scientific announced December 7th that it intends to create 116 new jobs and retain 480 jobs as part of expansion of its Mill Creek Road facility outside of Marietta. 

The expansion will make Thermo Fisher Scientific the largest industry in Washington County.  Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO) is known as the world leader is serving science.  The Marietta facility makes incubators, low-temperature freezers, biological safety cabinets and other laboratory equipment.  Earlier this year, the facilty was recognized as one of the "Best Plants in North America" by Industry Week Magazine.  The quality and productivity of its workforce has earned the Marietta facility the designation of Center of Excellence in the Thermo Fisher Scientific family. 

The announcement of the expansion was made following the award of an Ohio Job Creation Tax Credit.
