History at Your Fingertips

History-buffs hit the mother-lode in Washington County. Our area has an incredibly rich history dating back to the Ancient Mound Builders and the “more contemporary” travels of George Washington and the Revolutionary War, but also encompasses the Underground Railroad, regional development and commerce on the Ohio River.

If modern museums are more of your thing, we have a wealth of them too, highlighting the history of doll making, glasswares and the railroad just to name a few.
